Happy Friday! Some of the most worn winter accessories for me thus far have been wool/knit hats and cozy blanket scarves. I've accumulated quite a bit of scarves since last winter (my loving sis calls me the crazy scarf lady) but they've each been on heavy rotation, which in my mind justifies the purchases;)

Have a great weekend. Xo.

After the rain and snow(!!) the DMV area got yesterday, I needed to add a pop of color to my outfit to brighten up against the dreary weather. Hoping to see signs of Spring very soon.

Have a great week. Xo.

Hope you're staying warm. Xo.

Hi everyone! I don't know about you but I am so happy this week is halfway over. Last week and this past weekend has been really busy/tiring/stressful due to work related stuff which has been occupying the majority of my time. I pretty much put my social life on hold the whole week/end. Sad. Between working and studying over the weekend, taking a training class all day Monday to get my immunization certification (3/4 done with process!), and staying after hours to help my work partner get our pharmacy ready for a special event, I am so ready for my upcoming 4 day weekend. Catching up on sleep is high on my list. Anyway, long story short, life has been a bit busy to have my usual scheduled blog posts ready in time so thank you for being patient with me:)

Stay warm and have a great week. Xo.

Weekend Snapshots

This weekend I….

1. Received my online order of this Theory leather jacket. I've been on the hunt for a black moto leather jacket and haven't had much luck due to either fit or cut but this Theory one is something that comes close to what I'm looking for. I have two more leather jackets I ordered online which is on its way later this week so we shall see.

2. Needed some downtime to myself and relaxed with some food magazines for some inspiration on upcoming meals. Glossies, coffee, and my favorite tunes in the background is my idea of a total relaxation in the morning.

3. Met up with a good friend for a catch up and work venting session at Victoria Gastro Pub. We've both been stressed out due to work and since we share a love of the restaurant's duck fat fries and libations, it seemed like the obvious choice to dine at. We also talked about planning a trip together in late February to someplace warm…perhaps Belize?! Oh and sorry for the slightly blurry food picture! I was too hungry to care enough to retake the picture. That's just real life.

4. Found the gold hardware Hermes CDC leather wrap bracelet that's been on my wish list forever! I always see the sliver hardware wrap bracelet in stores but the gold one is rare to find and while I was just window shopping, the sales lady informed me that one just came in that day...in the size I was looking for (it comes in two sizes). I mean, talk about good timing.

How was your weekend?

Before the Snow

Blazer-Theory (buy here)
Jeans-H&M
Clutch-Saint Laurent (buy here)
Shoes-Pour La Victoire (buy here)
Sunglasses-Stella McCartney
Ring-Alexis Bittar (buy here)

Happy snow day everyone! The East coast has been getting hit with snow since late last night and it's supposed to snow until midnight today so hopefully you are staying warm and safe through this weather. I guess Winter wants to go out with a bang one last time before it allow Spring to come around:)

This outfit was obviously worn before the snow and when the weather was warmer. Blazers are timeless and a great transitional piece that is perfect to wear during Spring, especially since evenings can be a bit cool.

Stay warm, enjoy the snow, and have a great day. Xo.

My everyday comfort wear during the winter usually consists of a big cozy sweater along with a warm and stylish coat. I obviously still haven't had enough of wearing leather in my outfits and will probably continue embracing this trend until the weather warms up;)

Not one to usually wear only dark colors in my oufits, I couldn't resist injecting a little color into the outfit with my beloved red Balenciaga bag.

Have a great weekend. Xo.

Hi everyone! Now that the holiday season is officially over, life will hopefully slow down a bit for me (and you). I guess you can say this outfit reflects the relaxed attitude I'm feeling right now.

New years day always has me in a retrospective mood but also has me looking forward to the new year in terms of goals and personal growth for myself. There were many highlights in 2012 such as amazing opportunities and unexpected features with my blog, existing friendships that grew stronger, new friends gained, buying my first home/learning the responsibility that comes with home ownership, and going back to church. The lows of last year was definitely the death of my grandmother, coping with the grieving process that comes with the death of a loved one, and the sad realization that some friendships just aren't worth nurturing and are better left in the past.

I hope that 2012 was a joyful one for you and that my little corner of the web has been somewhat inspirational to you through outfit ideas or encouraged you to get in the kitchen and experiment with recipes. I'm excited to see what 2013 has in store for me and that you'll stick around to find out.

Happy new year and have a great rest of the week. Xo.

Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful and relaxing holiday spent with loved ones. I had an amazing time in chilly NYC with the family, but I'm finally back home. I wanted to do a quick outfit post for you since I'm heading back to work today. Nothing like a blast of high winds and some morning flurries to greet you after the holidays

I'm sure you keep hearing this, but seriously, can you believe the year is almost over?

Have a great weekend tying up 2012:) Xo.

Happy post election day! Hope your week is going more smoothly than mine. A couple of days ago I started having intense pain on my bottom molar tooth which prompted me to go to my dentist immediately to find out that I have an infection in my nerve. I don't know about you but this is the first time I've ever experienced a toothache this bad and had no idea how much it can affect your daily routine. It hurts to chew (I've been on a liquid diet the last couple of days, ugh) and it pretty much puts me in a sour mood. I have to get a root canal done tomorrow which somehow worked out because today is the first day of my week long staycation. In the meantime, the dentist put me on a pain med which has pretty much been the BEST. THING.EVER. I never thought I'd be saying that because I encounter drug addicts from time to time at work but good grief this stuff really is wonderful. On the flip side of things, since I'm off from work for a week I can at least get the procedure done and rest w/o it interfering with work. Glass half full.

Have a great rest of the week and I'll talk to you soon. Xo.

Be Bold

Shoes-Pour La Victoire

So if you haven't heard by now, yellow is the color for spring. I've been on the hunt for a yellow skirt for awhile now and unexpectedly found these Paige denims from TJ Maxx this past weekend instead. I still want a yellow skirt but this will do for now;) It was obviously discounted but they're a bit...bright. I got a lot of stares from people as I was wearing this outfit haha.

One of the color palettes I've recently been attracted to is yellow and blue. When I wore this outfit in a previous post, I just loved seeing those two colors together because both are bold and vibrant. Since today's outfit focuses on just those two colors, I wanted to tone it down with a basic black blazer.

Have you incorporated any spring trends into your wardrobe?

One of the looks that I really enjoy wearing and seeing on women is the androgynous look. I've expressed before how I love wearing wide legged pants and jeans are no exception because they just look unfussy and are overall comfortable. Wearing an untucked button down shirt, wide legged jeans and a blazer can exude either a masculine, feminine or gender neutral look so to finish off the look with a bit more of an oomph on the feminine, a girly "bling" was necessary;)

Hope you are having a fantastic week so far and as always, thanks so much for reading.

Movement

Sweater-Theory
Shorts-Old Navy
Hat-Forever 21
Purse-Chanel
Shoes-Christian Dior
Bracelet-John Hardy
Ring-Bought in Greece
Sunglasses-Stella McCartney

One of the reasons I bought this sweater was because I was drawn to the design of the cut. I love clothes that have movement to them whether it manifests in sweaters, blouses, or shirts because it makes the piece interesting. This is such a warm and cozy sweater that flows as you move and I just love that, especially after all the eating I did over the Thanksgiving holiday;)  As always, thanks for reading and hope you're having a wonderful week so far!
