Weekend Snapshots

This weekend I....

1. Stuffed my face with the most ripest and juiciest peaches I've ever tasted. My parents went to a local farm and picked tons of fresh peaches and gave several to me. Gosh, I'm going to miss these type of things about summer.

2. Finally had my bikinis I ordered from Victorias Secret delivered. I'm leaving for Cancun, Mexico this Wednesday so I was worried they wouldn't come in time, and fortunately they did. I had no idea Victoria's Secret carried a line of swimwear up until last week while shopping in NYC. Bathing suit shopping is a pain because of my petite frame but was pleasantly surprised at the amazing fit from their line. I highly recommend their twist bandeau top (currently on sale!) if you're a small chested gal because it gives a great lift with out you looking...ridiculous.

3. Had a little downtime so I took some time to paint my nails a new nail polish color I picked up (Essie's Fiji) and catch up on some of my favorite fashion magazines. Have you seen the size of the Vogue Sept issue?? It's massive.

4. Wore my newly purchased leather peplum top out by Amanda Uprichard. If you've been a reader of my blog for awhile, you know how much I love anything leather. My next item on my leather wish list is to find the perfect leather trousers. I've had to return several due to the way baggy fit:(

5. Checked out the Bonchon in Ellicott City, MD with my friend. It was my first time at the MD location and I didn't realize it was BYOB until I got there. I texted my friend who was still on the way to let her know and she promptly replied, "I'm gonna pick up some beer for us." Love. Catching up with each other for 4 hours over our favorite fried chicken and beer was the perfect way to close out the weekend.

Weekend Snapshots

This weekend I....

1. Bought a couple of new DVDs last week and finally had the chance to watch one of them this weekend. The original plan was to watch Argo since they were up for an Oscar (and they won!) but changed my mind and felt like watching something lighter instead. It worked out anyway because I found out later this weekend that another friend has been wanting to watch this movie so asked me to wait to watch it. I really enjoyed The Perks of Being a Wallflower--it's based off a novel and showcases the highs and lows of growing up and the friends that help us get through life. Two thumbs up.

2. Met up with a friend I haven't seen in a long time (this seems to be a common theme lately) at our favorite restaurant (Victoria Gastropub) located in MD that makes the most amazing poutine. Our catch up session lasted over 2 hours, so I'd say it was a good night.

3. Went shopping with my mom and ended up buying this glitter cardigan at Neiman Marcus. I was a bit skeptical at first but then my mom kept encouraging me to buy it, saying that it was going to come in handy. My mom is the best enabler. Sigh.

4. Picked up some new Essie nail polish colors that are very "Spring" like shades. I painted my nails in liliacism and now everytime I see my nails, I'm eagerly anticipating a change of seasons. I'm over you Winter. Really.

5. Met up with Mel and company at Bonchon in VA since we haven't seen each other in awhile. I've mentioned my love for this place several times on my blog so I won't say much other then it's the best fried chicken. Ever. It's definitely been a food filled weekend which included lots of catch up sessions with friends and I'm looking forward to another one today with my blogger friend, Meg.  .

Weekend Snapshots

This weekend I....

1. Finally received my Mulberry bag in the mail! I took her out this weekend and will post pics soon=)

2. Went to BonChon chicken for dinner because I was having a craving for it. For those of you who haven't heard of the greatness that is BonChon, it is Korean fried chicken (most crispiest, flavor infused skin) done right. Locations in the DMV area include Virginia and now Maryland. Get on that.

3. Received another package I've been waiting for in the mail--my Vera Wang sparkly shoes I purchased on sale from Neiman Marcus. Who doesn't love adding a little bit of sparkle to their shoe closet?

4. Dined at Little Serow located in Washington, DC. It's a recently opened Thai restaurant that has very limited seating (about 28 seats) and reservations can NOT be made. It's a fix prixe menu (7 courses involved) that is basically a hidden treasure. We got there around 5:20pm (doors open at 5:30pm) and a line was forming already. When we got inside the restaurant, we were told that we wouldn't be seated until 7:30pm! If you are a Thai food lover, I highly recommend this place. There are dishes I've never tasted before and the flavor profiles on each dish is beautifully aromatic, pungent, sweet and salty. I asked our waitress (btw the entire waitstaff we encountered were so friendly, including the chef who came over to our table to explain one of his dishes to us) how often the menu changes and she said every 4-5 weeks, so I will definitely be back.

5. Watched the Amazing Spider-Man. I love the whole series on Spider-Man and was doubtful if it would be good this time since the cast changed, but I LOVED it. This time around, the movie focused less on battle scenes and more on character development. Andrew Garfield did an amazing job portraying teen angst and well, I just wanna be bffs with Emma Stone. I loved her since watching her in Easy A and it's easy to see why Peter Parker is smitten with her character. Two thumbs up.

6. Stopped by Saks to check out their designer sale and am so glad I did because I found this Ali Ro trench coat for $69 (original $320)!! I love finding interesting twists on classic pieces and this is the perfect example of that.
