One of the things I love about fashion is that even when you bring unconventional styles together, it can still work. Clothes don't always have to match in print or be in the same color family and can still look cohesive, if that makes sense. I love mixing casual clothes with a bit of prim and proper like ripped jeans and a tweed jacket. Kind of cheeky, no?

Hope you're having a great week. Xo.

Hi everyone! Sorry that it's taken awhile to post an outfit for you but due to the recent travels and work transition, it's been a busy month. Regular outfit posts will hopefully resume starting next week! Starting a new job this week has been a bit overwhelming (but still exciting) due to a plethora of new information to familiarize myself with so please be patient with me while I try to adjust to a new schedule.

While I was in NYC last week, I stopped by Bloomingdales to look around and to take a little break from walking around in the bitter cold. One of the brands I browse through when shopping at Bloomies is Maje because of their slim fit and the effortlessly cool pieces they usually carry, like this leather jacket. The fit, all the cool zipper placements, and shoulder detailing promptly brought me to purchase it. Love. Personally, it's difficult to find a leather jacket that fits me well and that doesn't make me look too much like a biker. That's just not a cute look on me.

Hope you're having a wonderful week. So happy the weather's starting to warm up. Xo.

Weekend Snapshots

This weekend I….

1. Have been on an avocado toast kick lately. I know…I sound like every blogger out there but it's actually really good. But then again, anything that involves avocado is most likely going to taste good to me so there's that. It's been my breakfast of choice for the past week and have been toying with the idea of posting a "recipe" for it because it's so stupid simple and doesn't involve much steps or ingredients. Thoughts?

2. Checked out the new Founding Farmers restaurant that opened in Tysons Corner, VA for dinner. The restaurant is fairly spacious and was bustling. I've been to the original location in Washington, DC several times along with their MD location and prefer their breakfast/brunch menu; however I've never quite understood the hype behind this restaurant. They are probably one of the earlier restaurants to grasp the farm to table gimmick but beyond that this restaurant is just okay (minus their fried green tomatoes). Not worth the 2 hour wait I overhead while getting seated to my table.

3.  Celebrated the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one in terms of my career. I'm fairly private when it comes to my professional career but I will say that I am very much looking forward to new beginnings and challenges with my new job (it's been an anxiety-ridden 6 months in the making). My new position will be vastly different from the job I have been at for the past 5.5 years but eager to keep growing professionally. I'm also looking forward to being a lazy bum for the next couple of weeks! Kidding…kinda…I suppose this would be the ideal time to organize my closet and start on my taxes.

4. Have been wearing these Blank NYC ripped jeans constantly. My uniform as of late for this bone chilling weather has been these jeans and cozy knits (with layers underneath).

Happy Wednesday! The weather the past couple of days have been rainy and cold but the sun finally decided to peek through the clouds today so I decided to inject some of my favorite bright color pairings into my outfit today to go along with that winter sunshine;)

Have a great week. Xo.

Hi everyone! I just got back from my trip to Hong Kong and Seoul and am trying to get back to the groove of things. The first couple of days are always the toughest after a vacation especially when you're trying to get over jet lag. The absolute worst.

The trip was so much fun, especially revisiting Seoul, my birthplace. It's been about 12 years since I've been back and I still have several relatives living there and it was so good to see all of them and spend quality time together during the trip. Hong Kong was great in its own ways because it was a new city to explore which had awesome (and cheap!) food and shopping--my two favorite things;) It felt like summer in Hong Kong though with temperatures reaching the mid 80's, so coming back home to this Fall chill was a drastic change. More on the trip on an upcoming post.

I recently purchased this blazer and button down shirt several weeks ago and both items have been on constant repeat since the purchase. The petite sizing on the blazer is the perfect fit (sleeves actually fit in length!) and I just love me a striped button down shirt that can be worn for both office wear and casual pairings (not to mention the hard to beat price at $10!).

Though this is a little off topic, I think it's worth mentioning. Last night I had the opportunity to attend Saks Fifth Avenues Annual "Key to the Cure" kickoff party who has teamed up with the Tigerlily Foundation, a non-profit that raises money for women 15-40 years old for support before, during, and after breast cancer.  The charity shopping weekend begins today until Sunday 10/19 at all Saks Fifth Avenue stores nationwide and online (www.saks.com and www.saksoff5th.com). During that shopping weekend 2% of participating vendor sales will be donated to Tigerlily Foundation and 100% of the proceeds from this years shirts (retails at $35, designed by Rag and Bone) sold at Saks stores and online, will be donated to the foundation. I have to admit that I forget to do at home breast self-exams and this event was a stark reminder to start making it a habit. I hope that you will make it a habit as well.

Wishing you guys a fantastic week/end. Xo.

Hi everyone! My apologizes for the absence of posts the past couple of weeks--it's been due to an accumulation of unusable blurry pics from a hopefully fixable lens, an extremely busy and tiring work schedule, and preparing for my upcoming trip to Hong Kong (crossing fingers the current situation over there dissipates and gets better by the time I visit) and Korea this weekend! It's so crazy how September just flew by and we are already in the month of October. Am I the only person that feels that way??

A couple of outfit posts ago, I first wore this sleeveless trench here and with the fluctuating weather we've been having lately, it has been the perfect layering piece for Fall. Repeat offender over here.

Hope you've been enjoying everything about Fall so far. Have a great week. Xo.

As much as I appreciate a nice pair of well fitted pants/skinny jeans, I've always loved the look of loose/wide leg pants (same sentiment towards oversized knits). There's something very cool, unfussy, yet chic about it when worn right and these leather "sweatpants" encompass that style I love. It's a couple of inches longer than what I would like it to be on me so I'm considering getting it hemmed, but for now I'm ok with it.

Hope you're having a great week. Xo.

Weekend Snapshots

This weekend I…

1. Met up with my friend Meg, a fellow DMV blogger whom I've gotten to know over the year for an overdue dinner and drinks date at Founding Farmers. Needless to say, we had loads to catch up on. Good times, as always.

2. Added two more pairs of Blank NYC jeans to my growing collection. I recently found out about this brand over the past 6 months after ordering a pair of well fitting leather pants from this line and have been consistently impressed with the fit as well as their price point. I ordered these distressed jeans and these black utility jeans online which arrived over the weekend. Keepers.

3. Had dinner with my dear friends Mel and Carla at Ambar, located in Capital Hill. The original plan was to grab dinner at Rose's Luxury but it was a 3 hr wait (they don't take reservations) which was not gonna fly with us. I had a feeling this restaurant was going to gain popularity quickly when I dined there the month it opened, but a 3 hr wait? Come on. But, Ambar worked out well since it's been on my "bookmark" list and we opted for the AYCE drinks/small tapas for $49. A great option to try out many plates on the menu when going with several people. The dishes that stood out to me were the trout spread, grilled calamari, brussel sprouts w/bacon, roasted mushroom crepes, and mussels. No food pics because it was too dark inside.

4. After finishing dinner at Ambar, we met up with our friend Elle and her friend Sarah at Barmini, a bar owned by Jose Andres and connected next to his Minibar. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're walking into a modern Alice in Wonderland space. Apparently they have over 100 cocktails on the menu but the amazing mixologists can pretty much cater to whatever you request. How cute is the little pill capsule to insert the bill inside? I have never been impressed with a bar until I stepped into Barmini and would highly recommend this place for post dinner drinks with your date or girlfriends (reservations are required). Such a fun night spent with awesome ladies:)

5. Had some time to myself Sunday morning and spent it with the usual suspects: coffee, nail polish, food magazines, and browsing Pinterest. Much needed time to unwind.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you enjoyed the Thanksgiving break by eating and shopping to your hearts content. I overindulged a bit (per usual) with food and am trying to detox this week by eating more veggies and fruits. Emphasis on the trying.

Have a great week. Xo.
