Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I've done an outfit post which has partly been because I've been feeling uninspired and a bit burnt out with blogging. I wanted to detach myself from blogging to focus more on my personal life with out having to feel the pressure of trying to have posts ready for the week. The mini break is just what I needed to feel refreshed to blog again (with new ideas) and am looking forward to sharing regular outfit and food posts again with you.

Have a great week. Xo.

One of my favorite purchases this summer has been this cheeky cut out tribal print dress from a new to me label, Lovers + Friends.  As always, whenever I find a designer label that fits my body type my interest is definitely peaked. The vibrant colors, the cheeky cut outs, and the fit drew me to this dress and it has been worn several times over the past couple of months for the July 4th holiday, a trip to the winery, and many lunch/dinner outings. (I recently started wearing it with this sleeveless blazer for the evenings when I wanted a light layer to battle the cool evenings). It's hard to believe that we're already in the month of August which means summer will be coming to a close---SAD. But, until Fall weather starts to creep up, you can bet this dress will be on repeat;)

Have a great week. Xo

While I was visiting my sister in NYC over Memorial Day weekend a couple of months ago, I saw this dress at Saks while shopping and was immediately drawn to it (hello, stripes!) The cheeky cut out in the middle, along with the fun criss cross in the front makes this a no brainer that it's one of my favorite dress purchases as of late. After seeing how this striped dress fits my body type well, I was drawn to this designer line and bought another dress here and absolutely love the fit and flare look of it (sizing is small).

Now that it feels like summer, this dress will be getting lots of wear over the next couple of months especially since it's been hanging in my closet since May;)

Wishing you a great week. Xo.

As much as I appreciate a nice pair of well fitted pants/skinny jeans, I've always loved the look of loose/wide leg pants (same sentiment towards oversized knits). There's something very cool, unfussy, yet chic about it when worn right and these leather "sweatpants" encompass that style I love. It's a couple of inches longer than what I would like it to be on me so I'm considering getting it hemmed, but for now I'm ok with it.

Hope you're having a great week. Xo.

Happy Friday everyone! It's been a long/busy week and am just relieved that the weekend is finally here. I came home late last night from work feeling tired and lethargic (thought I was coming down with a cold) and as I was getting ready for bed, I found out that Buzzfeed featured my blueberry almond butter smoothie recipe on their website yesterday. Please check it out here

Have a great weekend. Xo.

This bipolar weather we've been having has been playing with us East Coasters for the past several days. It was in the mid 60s a couple days ago and just yesterday it dropped to the low 30s!! Clearly, Mother nature is not done with Winter because apparently there's another snow shower coming on Monday. Ugh. Sweater and tights wearing weather really needs to be done with.

Hoping the weather will let up this weekend. Have a good one, either way. Xo.

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's been a busy past couple of days which is a contributor to my lack of post on my usual Monday weekend snapshots (sorry!) and a special thanks to Mel for watching my little Mandu for a couple of days:)

When life gets busy, I am a repeat offender with my outfits. I might add variations to my outfits (change out pants to a skirt or vice versa or add different accessories) like I did when I initially wore this sweater HERE. But now that the temperatures are starting to drop, I decided to layer the cropped sweater with a long sleeve button down instead of a tank to add more warmth. I'm a huge proponent of recycling the items you already have in the closet and remixing it...trust me, your wallet will thank you.

Have a great week. Xo.

Weekend Snapshots

This weekend I....

1. Made one of the most easiest and delicious desserts using a recipe submitted by the Chef of Hill Country in NYC for People Magazine. It's basically a marriage between a PB&J and a S'more. SO GOOD. Often times the most simplest things are the best. Will post recipe later this week.

2. Was invited to Veritas Wine Bar to kick off DC Wine Week (Oct 12-19). It was a great night of sampling wine and charcuterie pairings, along with my girl Mel. If you're a wine lover like myself, be sure to check out the schedule on the website as they have events everyday this week. Many thanks to the DC Wine Week team for the invitation and hosting a great event.

3. Was planning on attending Taste of DC with Mel but due to the weather, we decided against it and stayed in to do some recipe tasting. I finally made the Moroccan lentil soup I learned from a cooking class I took awhile back and Mel made a delicious baked brie and apple appetizer along with a cheesy corn dip. Friends that cook together, stay together.

4. Received my online order of these shoes I bought a week ago from Cusp NM. I've been wanting to add some color to my fairly neutral shoe collection and couldn't resist this pair with the cute bow detail.

How was your weekend?

Day to Night

One of my favorite purchases I made in the past couple of months has been this sleeveless dress by Clover Canyon. I discovered the label this past year while shopping with my mom and we were both drawn to the amazing prints and colors that were consistent in their clothes. The first item I bought from this label was a v-neck neoprene dress earlier this year, but because of the v-neck cut on the dress, I usually reserve it as my "going out to dinner" dress. Clover Canyon has easily become one of my favorite designers not only because of their beautiful and colorful prints but the fit is just as amazing. It can get difficult to find petite friendly clothes that fit well with out having any alterations done, so when I find a label that does I'm pretty loyal to it. And I love that their clothes are made in USA.

This dress is versatile enough to wear to the office with a blazer or cardigan thrown over it especially if exposing arms isn't suitable in a conservative work environment, but is also great to wear for happy hour or for those dinner plans you have right after work. Throw on a bold accessory, grab a clutch, and you're ready to go without having to change;)

Have a great rest of the week! Xo.

Happy Friday! One of the colors schemes I fell in love with over fall/winter was pairing black and blue together which is something I will carry through all seasons. I wanted to have pops of black show up from accessories in my outfit while paired against this super comfy and simple navy sweatshirt I bought last week. Comfy top, cut offs, and Chanel? This is basically my summer uniform;)

Have a great weekend. Xo.

Hi everyone! Sorry for not posting my usual Weekend Snapshots this past Monday but I  decided to take a short break from it. It's starting to become a bit much on the weekends to remember to document everything I did and quite honestly, I'd rather much enjoy being in the moment with out having to remember to take a food pic, get good lighting, edit, etc, especially when I'm in the company of my friends (most of them are not bloggers). I also find myself getting annoyed if I forgot to take a pic of something I did over the weekend because then I can't really include that into the Monday post. I suppose I could but let's be honest here...an entry with out a picture is boring.

For the next couple of weeks or month my usual Weekend Snapshots posts might be replaced with either more food/outfit posts until I figure out what I want to do. Since it's become a surprisingly popular post, I don't know if I want to take it away just yet; but, in the meantime I'll be taking a break from it. Thanks in advance for being patient with me.

Wishing you a great week! Xo.
