Happy Wednesday everyone! It's been a busy past couple of days which is a contributor to my lack of post on my usual Monday weekend snapshots (sorry!) and a special thanks to Mel for watching my little Mandu for a couple of days:)

When life gets busy, I am a repeat offender with my outfits. I might add variations to my outfits (change out pants to a skirt or vice versa or add different accessories) like I did when I initially wore this sweater HERE. But now that the temperatures are starting to drop, I decided to layer the cropped sweater with a long sleeve button down instead of a tank to add more warmth. I'm a huge proponent of recycling the items you already have in the closet and remixing it...trust me, your wallet will thank you.

Have a great week. Xo.

My everyday comfort wear during the winter usually consists of a big cozy sweater along with a warm and stylish coat. I obviously still haven't had enough of wearing leather in my outfits and will probably continue embracing this trend until the weather warms up;)

Not one to usually wear only dark colors in my oufits, I couldn't resist injecting a little color into the outfit with my beloved red Balenciaga bag.

Have a great weekend. Xo.

Happy Friday! Hope you've ended the week well and are looking forward to the weekend. I'm very excited about today's post because my awesome photographer has recently upgraded his camera to a Canon 5D Mark 3 and today's outfit post was shot using that camera. Lets just say that he's extremely happy to be working with his new gadget...I guess it equates to the same feeling I have when buying a new bag.

Today's outfit is military inspired based on an interview request I received from Washington Life magazine asking me to incorporate current trends into one outfit. For the next several week, they will feature a DMV fashion blogger and mine will be posted next week. I'll link that post when it comes out--hope you enjoy the little feature:)

The trends I chose were military, leather and ankle boots because those are all trends I've been loving (and wearing) this season. I've been wearing these leather pants constantly as shown several times on my blog and thought it would be fun to pair it with an utilitarian jacket. I added a belt to cinch the waist to give it more shape to the outfit because it's easy for your figure to get lost in a jacket and a shapeless blouse underneath. Oh and as always, a pop of red never hurts;)

Have a fantastic weekend. Xo.

Happy Wednesday everyone! The weather has finally started to cool down which means I've been layering my clothes and adding one of my favorite accessories to my outfits: scarves. I love using this vest as a layering piece to my outfits and that it reminds me of being on a safari which is something on my travel list;) I layered it on top of a maxi dress and couldn't resist adding a leopard scarf to the mix.

A couple of days ago, I was invited to the private sneak peek preview party for the new Nordstroms Rack in Tysons Corner, VA. I was contemplating wearing today's outfit that night but decided to wear something else that didn't require layers for efficient fitting room changes if necessary;) It was a great night of shopping and noshing with bubblys being served constantly.Who doesn't love that? The 2 floor store has a huge selection of designer goods for both men and women. I managed to snap a couple of photos from the event in the midst of my shopping/munching. Enjoy. xo.

Lace

When I was a kid, I hated anything lace because I didn't like that  feeling that the lace dresses/shirts I wore felt so uncomfortable against my skin. Although I didn't like lace on me, I still appreciated the fabric on someone else. It's feminine, delicate, and just pretty. While browsing through H&M last week, I came across this shirt and decided to try it on only because the sleeves looked loose which meant no rubbing against my arm. It was a win.

Because lace fabric is very feminine, I waned to pair it against something with a bit more rugged such as jeans with a destroyed look. I couldn't help but add a pop of red to complete the outfit;)

Hope you're surviving this work week so far. I know that it's been a struggle for me to mentally get back into the groove of things after the long weekend. xo.

I am so relieved that the weather here has finally cooled down somewhat--and by cool I mean mid 80's. It was so disgustingly hot last week that it made wearing work attire feel uncomfortable and somewhat unbearable. Now that the weather is a bit more comfortable, I love wearing my go to white summer blazer. This recently purchased J.Crew top is fun and whimsical because of the polka dot print, but because it's a tank top, I wanted to wear it underneath a blazer to make it look more work appropriate.

Hope you've been having a great week so far. xo.

So if you haven't heard by now, yellow is the color for spring. I've been on the hunt for a yellow skirt for awhile now and unexpectedly found these Paige denims from TJ Maxx this past weekend instead. I still want a yellow skirt but this will do for now;) It was obviously discounted but they're a bit...bright. I got a lot of stares from people as I was wearing this outfit haha.

One of the color palettes I've recently been attracted to is yellow and blue. When I wore this outfit in a previous post, I just loved seeing those two colors together because both are bold and vibrant. Since today's outfit focuses on just those two colors, I wanted to tone it down with a basic black blazer.

Have you incorporated any spring trends into your wardrobe?

Hi everyone! I just wanted to do one more quick post before the new year is upon us. I have lots of errands to run today before meeting up with friends tonight to celebrate NYE and wanted to share the casual look I'm wearing while I run my errands. I bought this scarf a couple months ago and was immediately attracted to the bright, cheery color it exuded (not to mention the soft texture of it). I love using scarves to brighten up an outfit because it can immediately spruce up a plain white shirt. The color is fitting to the mood I'm currently feeling because I'm pretty happy and excited to see what 2012 has in store for me. This year was definitely a great year for me for various reasons and I feel blessed for the things that has happened so far, whether good or bad. I'm a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason.

I sincerely wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year and as always, thank you so much for reading.

Bundle of Warmth

I told you I loved this shirt! This look is something I'd wear if I'm running errands or meeting with friends for lunch, which is where I was actually going to:)  By simply switching out the bottom with jeans, the outfit gives off a casual, relaxed vibe versus the previous post here, where that outfit looked more refined and dressy. Clothes that can rotate in my closet are winners.

I am so ready for this week to be over and embrace the upcoming holiday. I only have to get through today and then I'll be free of work for a week! As much as I love this holiday because of all the delicious food I'm anticipating along with the Black Friday shopping (!!!), I love it even more because it's really a celebration of reflecting on everything that I'm thankful for. Wishing you a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
