A couple of weeks ago I went on a mini vacation to Los Angeles and also visited my friend Elle who recently moved out West. She was gracious enough to open up her place for a couple of days and show my sis and I around town during our stay. She's currently working as the fashion director of an online female/male clothing shop, Collection J that recently launched this week, which is where these ripped denim jeans are from. I'm usually a bit weary when it comes to denim with labels I'm not familiar with but I was pleasantly surprised with the fit, comfort, and the perfectly placed rips on the denim.

Thanks again, Elle for being so hospitable and best wishes to you on your new endeavor!

Have a great weekend. Xo.

Laid Back Summer

Summer so far has been fun, busy, yet relaxing which explains the less frequent blog posting (sorry!) I've been trying to take advantage of the warm weather with outdoor activities such as hiking, trying to get back into golfing, bike shopping (more on that later) and dining al fresco at several new to me restaurants in the DMV area with my nearest and dearest. Although I'm positive the wanting to dine al fresco will promptly change to just wanting to be inside a full on AC blasting restaurant with the recent humidity we've been experiencing around here. Not cute. Anyway, I promise to be better about updating more starting with a new "Weekend Snapshots" post on Monday:)

Hope you're having a great week. Xo.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts lately--it's been a mixture of busyness as well as laziness contributing to the radio silence. Since it's been awhile since I've posted an outfit post, I thought I'd start off with one of my favorite go to looks that's always reliable: double denim. I wear my chambray shirt frequently during the fall/winter season so I've been on the hunt for a sleeveless version for summer and finally found one randomly hidden in the sales rack at Express last week. The store only had one left in stock so I took that as a sign;) (Still available online).

I also love wearing white blazers during the summer because it looks fresh, crisp, and simply chic. Next time you find yourself reaching for your classic black blazer, try swapping it for a white one.

Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week. Xo.

School Girl Chic

Happy Friday everyone! There's something about peter pan collar shirts that remind me of preppy school girl uniforms which I love; but, pairing it with a (faux) leather skirt updates that conservative look. I love gray and red together, so naturally I gravitated towards my trusty red Chanel WOC to finish off the look;)

Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Xo.

Not only is the month of October American Pharmacist month (kinda geeky but whatever!) it is also Breast Cancer Awareness month. Working as a health professional in the industry, there are certain diseases that cloud my thoughts a bit more as a female. I can't stress enough the importance of simply being aware of this disease and the steps you can do to detect breast cancer early on.

Knowledge is power, ladies. Xo.

A Little Camo

3/4 sleeve Painter tee-J.Crew (They're so comfy, I have these in 2 other colors)
Leather (faux) skirt-F21
Clutch-Marc Jacobs
Camo baseball cap-Express
Rings-Gorjana & Griffin, Urban Outfitters
Necklace-H&M
Sunnies-Karen Walker

Happy Wednesday everyone! The camo trend is something I've been having mixed feelings about. I'm personally not a fan of prints on pants so camo pants aren't something you'd find me wearing, no matter how trendy they are. However, I do like to slowly ease my way and experiment with trends that aren't in my comfort zone which is why the camo print on a baseball cap is the perfect starting point. Not only do baseball caps give you a downtown cool girl touch but the military-inspired print on the cap makes it super stylish. For now, this is all the camo I need;)

Have a great week. Xo.

Happy Monday everyone! Ever since cropped tops have exploded all over the pages of fashion magazines and the runways of NYFW recently, my interest in them have peaked. I'm not brave enough to wear the extremely cropped tops but was happy to discover this semi cropped sleeveless turtleneck one and (faux) leather skirt while in NYC last weekend. I actually wore this outfit to the Reward Style rooftop party that was hosted for fashion bloggers last weekend in the city but with a striped version of this top.

Keeping an outfit all black is sleek, simple, and chic which is the look I wanted for a night out. For a casual look to transition into Fall, I foresee wearing this top with a blazer and finishing the look with my favorite pair of denims.

Have you embraced the cropped top trend?
