Simply Mint

My favorite color right now is the ever popular spring '12 color, mint. I've been wearing these pants on a daily basis and I wanted the colored pants to shine through on today's outfit post by pairing it with the simplicity of a crisp white blouse. It's an easy look to achieve and you could interchange your shoes with a solid colored pump, but I couldn't resist adding leopard to the outfit;)

My recent splurge was this Hermes cuff called the Collier de Chien. The band is made of a beautiful, smooth leather and the color was a no brainer because orange is the classic color of Hermes. It's classic, chic and edgy. I see this as an investment piece (it's been around since the 1940's) and I have no regrets on this purchase because it has proved to stand the test of time.

Readers, do you have an investment piece you have or would like to purchase?

Happy Friday everyone! The sun is FINALLY out after being showered with rain and dismal weather for the past couple of days. Today's weather here in Washington, DC is not exactly the warmest but not exactly the coldest either so I wanted to feature an outfit on spring layering.

Usually when I know I'm going to be out all day and the weather is mild, I like to carry a cardigan, a light jacket or a light sweater when the temperatures drop at night. I also wanted to pattern mix by pairing stripes with my favorite gingham shirt.

I've showed a couple different ways I like to wear this gingham shirt HERE and HERE and this will probably be the last pairing I do with this particular shirt for awhile since the weather is starting to warm up now. So if you're sick of seeing it already, you won't have to see it for some time;)

Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

I've been wearing these mint pants I bought recently at H&M lately and am having a major lovefest with them. I know that the color mint is huge this season but I didn't realize how versatile they could be until I started experimenting with different pairings. I have another outfit coming up soon that involves these mint pants so please stay tuned=)

Have you jumped on the mint bandwagon too?

Shades of Blue

I've been loving the rich blue colors of this blouse as seen HERE and HERE and these colored denim jeans lately and wanted to pair them together since they are in the same color family. I love that though they are each different shades of blue, there is a certain cohesiveness to the outfit with a hint of subtle color difference.

Readers, do you ever incorporate similar solid color shades into one outfit?

Happy Tuesday everyone! For some reason, summer came early for the east coast yesterday because we experienced really warm temperatures. I bought these colored denim jeans a couple weeks ago and have been wearing them nonstop because they add a great pop of color to my regular denim jeans collection. It was hot enough to wear a tank top so I paired the jeans with a casual gray color so the focus would be on the fantastic color of the jeans. During the summer time, I love wearing these white framed Chanel sunnies because the white color just give offs a cool summer vibe so you'll be seeing her more as the weather warms up.

I hope you guys enjoyed the brief summer weather we had the past couple days. Thanks for visiting:)

Keep It Simple

Happy Friday everyone!

Now that colored pants are all the rage now, I've been playing with different colors and pairings against these yellow jeans. Because they're really bright, I wanted to keep the top simple with a crisp white blouse. I love the ruffle details on this blouse because it stands out just enough for it to not be so basic.

On a different note, I have a couple of things to share with you today. Several months ago, an editor from www.DCLifemagazine.com contacted me asking if I would participate in a Q&A interview about me and my blog, so you can get to know me more here: http://www.dclifemagazine.com/articles/meet-linda-park-from-nomnomblingbling/index.html I was also asked to work on a little project this Monday that will involve me playing dress up, which I'm very much looking forward too but am a little nervous about. I can't wait to share it with you when it finally comes together so please stay tuned=)

Have a great weekend.

Spring Trends:Florals

Growing up, I've always been a fan of colors and interesting prints on clothes and this blouse is the perfect example of my affinity towards that. I bought it last year because the floral designs on the blouse reminded me of a Monet painting and the vibrant colors made the blouse stand out. I find it funny that one of the big spring trends currently is floral anything because what I bought over a year ago plays perfectly into this current trend.

Trends can be tricky because what might be 'huge' now may not necessarily be popular next season/year and it could very well end up sitting in your closet collecting dust. My feelings towards clothes is that you should buy something that you love and makes you feel good whether it's trendy or not. Things that might be trendy now may not necessarily be right for you and that is completely okay. Don't fall into the trap of buying everything that's trendy--pick and choose what ultimately suits you.

Do you have any clothes that are trendy now that you're able to recycle?

So if you haven't heard by now, yellow is the color for spring. I've been on the hunt for a yellow skirt for awhile now and unexpectedly found these Paige denims from TJ Maxx this past weekend instead. I still want a yellow skirt but this will do for now;) It was obviously discounted but they're a bit...bright. I got a lot of stares from people as I was wearing this outfit haha.

One of the color palettes I've recently been attracted to is yellow and blue. When I wore this outfit in a previous post, I just loved seeing those two colors together because both are bold and vibrant. Since today's outfit focuses on just those two colors, I wanted to tone it down with a basic black blazer.

Have you incorporated any spring trends into your wardrobe?
