Weekend Getaway

Happy Labor day everyone! Hope you're spending the day relaxing and eating delicious food. The long weekend was a great excuse for my bf and I to escape the city life and instead immerse in the rustic country side of Shenandoah Valley. We stayed at L'auberge Provencal, a French Country Bed and Breakfast for two nights and it was the perfect to place to relax, visit wineries, and eat fresh, delicious, and locally grown food. If you're unfamiliar with a bed and breakfast, it's essentially a private home owned by innkeepers that provide you with rooms and breakfast, hence bed and breakfast:) We both were curious about staying at this particular place largely due to its close location to all the Virginia wineries and the inn's award winning french restaurant.

As soon as we arrived we were greeted with fresh fruit and cookies, which made us feel right at home. The restaurant's dinner menu offers either a 3 or 5 course tasting menu and food was nothing short of amazing...

I'm grateful for getaways such as this because it helps rejuvenate the soul without the sounds and distractions of the hustle and bustle of city and work life. I hope however you spent your long weekend had a similar impact. Cheers to a short work week;)
